About us

Delivering end-to-end solutions for all your retail storage needs

In today’s modern retail environment, you need a partner you can rely on.

Someone with the industry knowledge and experience to understand your complex requirements and deliver bespoke, sustainable, shelving and storage solutions.

A market leader who’ll provide products which not only meet your needs, but those of your customers as well – ensuring you remain efficient, compliant, and ahead of your customers.

Quite simply, that partner is Polypal UK.

A rich retail heritage

Polypal UK started life in 1978 as Organised Storage Systems Ltd – a distributor of pallet racking based in Thornes Lane, Wakefield.

Now, almost 50 years later, we’re part of the globally-acclaimed Whittan Industrial Group. Our retail journey started with us supplying and installing racking for the Asda supermarket chain. Then, as the business developed, so did our requirements. This saw us relocate to support our growing team, moving first to Batley and then to our current site in Horbury.

Our commitment to quality

Our accreditations are testament to our ongoing commitment to outstanding customer service and exceptional quality.

These include:

  • ISO – the global benchmark for manufacturing processes, safety requirements, and quality assurance
  • EcoVadis Gold – ranked in the top 5% of organisations demonstrating a strong management system addressing key sustainability criteria
  • Made In Britain – membership is an endorsement of a company’s commitment to manufacturing at the very highest standards
  • Achilles – ensures compliance to meet industry standards and mitigate risks in the supply chain
  • SEMA – as a founding member of the Storage Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (SEMA) we’re committed to the safe design, installation, and use of storage equipment
  • SafeContractor – assures our customers that we meet all the standards and regulations they require regarding pallet racking, shelving, lockers, and our ability to subcontract
  • Constructionline – a certification process assessing the health and safety, environmental, and quality management systems of a construction company
  • BFM – operators with Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) accreditation can operate under more flexible work and rest hours
  • CHAS – demonstrating our compliance with current UK health and safety legislation

Putting safety first

To control workplace risks and take appropriate steps to eliminate or minimise them, we regularly:

  • Undertake risk assessments;
  • Provide essential information about the risks;
  • Ensure there’s adequate instruction and training for how managers and employees can deal with the risks.

Our SHEQ and CSR statements, along with our wider group standards, allow us to maintain the highest standards of operational excellence. These are constantly reviewed, to promote a ‘zero harm’ culture.

Recognising social responsibility

At Polypal UK we’re committed to creating a better future for all.

We are committed to designing and developing products and services that meet high ethical and environmental standards, enhancing the well-being of our customers and society overall.

With shelving and storage products manufactured right here in Britain, our services are naturally more sustainable.

Meanwhile, you can rely on us to help you meet your own targets through repurposing, repair, and recycling.
